Parkinson’s care at home
Living with Parkinson’s often means support that keeps step with a changing day. In Croydon and Bromley, our trained, DBS-checked carers help with medication on time, mobility and balance, mealtimes and personal care, working around the routine your GP and Parkinson’s nurse have set. How home care helps
Parkinson’s affects movement, balance and sometimes speech, and symptoms can vary through the day. Getting medication at the right time matters more than with almost any other condition. Our role is practical, everyday support at home that keeps to the timings and routines your GP and Parkinson’s nurse have agreed.
The help that makes the biggest difference
Medication on time
Timing matters a great deal in Parkinson’s. We prompt and support the medicines your GP has set out at the times agreed, and keep a clear record at every visit.
Mobility, balance and freezing
Calm, steady help with walking, transfers and moments of “freezing”, following the moving-and-handling plan your physiotherapist has set.
Mealtimes and swallowing
Unhurried support at the table, meals to any texture the speech and language therapist advises, and attention to hydration and appetite.
Personal care at the right pace
Gentle help with washing, dressing and toileting that works with tremor, stiffness and slower mornings. Never rushed.
A break for family carers
Respite visits so the people who do so much can rest, knowing the routine and timings are in safe, familiar hands.
Worried about cost? Care starts from £26 an hour
Your first home visit is free, with no obligation. Many families get help through their council, NHS Continuing Healthcare or Attendance Allowance. Our funding guide explains the routes in plain English.

Parkinson’s changes over time, so the care changes with it, from a visit timed around medication to several visits a day, up to live-in care, kept with the same small team. If needs become clinical, such as PEG feeding, our nurse-led team can step up (see our complex & clinical care), so support continues with one trusted provider.

We work around the people already involved: your GP, Parkinson’s nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech and language therapist. We keep to their plans, especially medication timings, and flag any change early. Medicines stay with your GP and pharmacist; therapy stays with your therapists; we support both day to day.

Parkinson’s care at home: common questions
Can you help with Parkinson’s medication timing?
Yes. Timing matters with Parkinson’s, so we plan visits around it. We prompt and support the medicines your GP has set out at the times agreed with your Parkinson’s nurse, and record each one, because being late can affect the day.
Can someone with advanced Parkinson’s stay at home?
Often, yes. With the right support and an honest assessment of needs, care can grow from a single visit to live-in support, and our nurse-led team can take on clinical needs such as PEG feeding when they arise.
Can you help on the harder, slower days?
That is exactly what home care is for. The same familiar carers adjust the pace to the day (more time when mornings are stiff, lighter touch when things flow), keeping dignity at the centre.
How quickly can Parkinson’s care start?
Often within days of your free home visit, and sooner when something urgent has happened. Tell us the situation and we will be honest about what we can put in place and when.
Will it cost us, or can it be funded?
Care starts from £26 an hour, with a free first home visit. Help is often available through your council, NHS Continuing Healthcare or Attendance Allowance. Our funding guide explains the routes.
With Parkinson’s, the difference is in the detail: the right tablet at the right minute, time to move at your own pace, and the same faces who know your day.
