Live-in care: common questions
How does the cost compare with a care home?
Live-in care is often comparable to (and for couples usually cheaper than) a good care home, because one package supports both of you. Every situation differs, so we cost it openly at your free home visit; our funding guide covers the help available.
How do you choose the right live-in carer?
Matching is everything when someone shares your home, so we look at personality, interests and routine as much as care needs. We introduce the carer before anything starts. If the chemistry is not right, we change it, simple as that.
What does the carer need from us?
A bedroom of their own, meals or a food arrangement, and agreed daily breaks. We set all of this out clearly before care begins so there are no awkward surprises for anyone.
How quickly can live-in care begin?
Often within a week or two of your free home visit, and faster in an emergency such as a hospital discharge. Tell us your dates and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
