Home care in Croydon & Bromley

Companionship that brightens the week

Companionship care is a regular visit from a friendly, carefully matched carer: conversation over a cup of tea, help with shopping and appointments, support with hobbies, or simply good company. Loneliness affects health as much as many physical conditions; a familiar visitor each week genuinely changes how the days feel.

Your questions answered

Companionship: common questions

What does companionship care cost?

Visits start from £26 an hour with no minimum commitment beyond the visit itself, and the first home visit is free. Many families simply book a regular weekly slot.

Is companionship just sitting and chatting?

It can be exactly that (and good conversation matters more than people admit) but visits flex to the person: outings, hobbies, appointments, a walk, or quietly being there so the family can go out without worrying.

Who would be visiting my mother?

A DBS-checked carer employed directly by us, chosen to suit her personality and interests, and introduced in person first. We then keep the same visitor wherever possible, because the relationship is the service.

Can companionship grow into more support later?

Yes, that is one of its quiet strengths. The same trusted visitor can gradually help with more, from meals to personal care, without the upheaval of introducing someone new when needs change.
